If your call history suddenly shows multiple separate entries for the same contact, you’re not alone. A recent update to the Google Phone app (Dialer) introduced an “un-merged” call log view, showing each call individually. While this can be useful for detailed tracking, many users prefer the old merged view.

Unfortunately, Google hasn’t yet provided an in-app option to re-merge call logs. However, there are a few effective workarounds to bring back the familiar layout or minimize clutter.

1. Uninstall the Latest Phone App Update
   • Open Settings › Apps › Phone (or Google Phone).
   • Tap Uninstall updates.
   • This restores the previous version with merged call logs.
   • ⚠️ Note: The app may auto-update again, so turn off auto-updates temporarily in the Play Store for the Phone app.
2. Check for Updated Versions (Future Fixes)
   • Google often revises UI changes based on feedback.
   • Keep an eye on the Phone app’s changelog in the Play Store — future updates may restore or offer a toggle for merged view.
3. Send Feedback to Google
   • Open the Phone app › Settings › Help & feedback › Send feedback.
   • Mention that you’d like the Merge Calls option reinstated.
   • More feedback increases the chances of this feature returning.

If you frequently call the same numbers, you can filter or group calls by contact in Google Contacts or by using third-party call log managers from trusted developers on the Play Store — just make sure they have good privacy reviews.
